Paintball is a great bonding experience for families and friends. You will play multiple rounds, on different fields, consisting of a bunch of different game modes. This will cause you to work together to win the game!
It is also great for team building! Get everyone out of the office for a day and get active! You will learn and develop better communication and faster critical thinking. You and your co-workers will have a fun filled day and become a better team for it!
Not at all! While paintball is a male dominated sport, we have women who play every week! We regularly host teams and parties that consist of mostly women. Looking for something out of the box for your bachelorette party? You’ve come to the right spot!
The cost of paintball varies depending on the player. If you have your own gear, you will only need to pay the field admission and air fee and buy our field paint. In this situation, it’s highly recommended you get our membership!
If you need to rent gear, we have two packages available. Our first starts at $30, and comes with a marker, mask, and 100 paintballs. Everything you need to be safe and get started! However, 100 paintballs typically lasts about 1-2 games depending on how much you shoot.
Our second rental package is $40, the only difference is you get 500 paintballs. This will last you about 5-8 games, again depending on how much you end up shooting.
We do offer a variety of items for protection and more accurate markers. These have an additional cost, but are not required!
Short answer: It can.
Our low impact feels like a rubber band snap, while standard impact is similar to the snap of a towel. Everyone has a different tolerance for pain. For someone who is 30 years old, it may not hurt at all, while someone who is 15, its may sting for a few seconds after.
Typically, the closer someone is to you, the more its going to hurt as the paintball has less time to slow down. We do have a 15-foot engagement limit, where you must ask the other player to surrender before shooting. This gives you the opportunity to call yourself out and avoid that close-up hit.
Layers, layers, layers! Paintball can hurt!
We recommend wearing, at a minimum, pants and a hoodie. For our Outdoor field, you are exposed to the elements, so be prepared for that. Athletic shoes or boots work great for this locations as well.
For our Indoor field, cleats are strongly recommended. (No steel tips).
Wearing layers lets you easily protect yourself, and if you find you are getting too hot and the paintballs aren’t hurting as much as you thought, you can dress down and keep going!
Paintballs used to stain, and some cheaper quality ones still will. Paintballs that use an oil based fill will leave an oily stain on clothes. DBS does not used any oil based paintballs.
The PEG (polyethylene glycol) fill in our paint is safer for the environment and keeps the oil off your clothes. It is unlikely they will stain any of your clothes, however, each fabric can react different to the fill, therefore we recommend you wash the clothes you played in when you get home in order to avoid any unhappy accidents.
No problem! We have many rental packages available to get you geared up and playing! We also have a ProShop located on Evergreen Way that sells all kinds of gear for beginners all the way to pro-level equipment.
Barrel Cover – A brightly colored, hard-plastic cover for the end of your barrel. This is a redundant feature for everyone’s safety. In the chance a marker fires outside of the play area, it will catch the paintball before it leaves the barrel.
Chest Protector - A heavier and supported device that covers the chest and back. This helps protect softer areas of the body.
Chronograph – A radar device used to measure the speed of the paintball leaving the marker.
Hopper – A plastic container, typically located on top of the marker. This holds and feeds the paintballs down into the marker.
Marker – Sometimes referred to as a paintball gun. This is what you use in order to play the game and ‘mark’ your targets with a paintball.
Mask – This is a protective shield that is worn around the users face in order to protect their eyes, ears, and mouth from paintballs. This must be worn at all times before and while inside a netted play area.
Neck Guard – A piece of neoprene with Velcro that covers the throat and neck and protects them from being hit.
Squeegee – This is used to clean out barrels from any debris that may build up during normal use.
Low impact paintball uses a smaller paintball than standard. This allows newer and younger players to play without the fear of being hit by the bigger caliber (standard).
Low Impact Paintball is a great starting point for newer and younger players. These paintballs use special markers to shoot a smaller paintball. While these markers shoot at the same velocity as our standard markers, the impact is significantly reduced. These paintballs are less likely to leave welts and feel like a rubber band snap on bare skin.
Reservations are necessary for Private Parties. You can book these on our website, or by giving us a call! If you need to book a party within two days, you will need to call us to get it scheduled. For Open Session, it is highly recommended that you make a reservation. This allows us to ensure you have the most enjoyable experience. If you don’t have a reservation, you are still more than welcome to drop in to play!
A typical game at our Indoor field will last between two to five minutes. Specific game modes can last longer and the referee will be able to explain this, or make adjusts if there is a specific type of game you want to play!
For our Outdoor field, games will last between five and ten minutes. The fields here are bigger, so we allow more time to make it a unique experience. We also have Big Games at our Outdoor that have thirty minute rounds!
It’s always a good idea to be over-prepared than under-prepared. You should bring something to drink, like water or Gatorade. Paintball is a very active sport! Bring an extra pair of clothes with you. You will get dirty, and this will allow you to keep it off your car seats! Bring extra layers. If you find the paintballs are hurting more than expected, throw on an extra layer. Gloves! Don’t forget your gloves at home, keep your fingers warm and protected.
We do offer extra protective equipment, drinks, and snacks. When being active, you should always make sure you are staying hydrated!
It is recommended that you leave any loose items in your car, along with any valuable items that could be lost or damaged on the field.
Yes it is! Our referees are highly attentive and trained to ensure everyone has a great day of play and stays safe for the entire day. We have several safety rules, that you will find are not only enforced by staff, but other players as well. This is due to no one wanting anyone to get hurt and the great community we have at DBS.
Our safety equipment comes from the best companies in the industry and are regularly maintained by staff. Before you are given your gear, you will go through a quick safety briefing where your referee will explain paintball basics and cover the safety rules. Play close attention, but if you happen to miss anything or have questions, we are more than happy to cover it again or explain more in depth.
Not at all. Paintballs are a gelatin capsule filled with a polyethylene glycol (PEG) and dye mix. Paintballs and their fill will break down in a few days time when exposed to the elements. They are completely biodegradable!
Older paintballs may have an oil based paint that is not as environmentally safe. We do not allow these types of paintballs at our Outdoor field (No outside paint for the Indoor Arena) due to the possible environmental impact they may have. While most manufactures have moved to the PEG fill, some have not. If you think you may have oil based paint, simply give us a call or show them to any staff. They will be able to tell!
You certainly can! Our Indoor Arena has a large viewing area when you can watch everyone play. You can view some games from the staging area at the Outdoor field as well! We also regularly post videos to our Instagram and YouTube that showcases play.
