Tippmann

First Steps… Beginning your paintball career.

I would guess that 70% of the people who have played paintball began their career with a Tippmann.  I played for the first time in 1992. Two weeks af6yer my first time playing, I purchased a Tippmann Prolite. It was my gun of choice for seven years. I upgraded to an Automag in 1999 and still play with it occasionally. If I were to purchase any gun right now, it would be Planet Eclipse Gtech 170R.

If you are a new player coming in Doodlebug Sportz ProShop, I or Dusty will suggest starting with a Tippmann, Their Paintball guns range from $149.95 to $299.95

Tippmann is the name the majority of people start with.

Tippmmann is also the brand that most fields choose to use for their rental equipment.

Tippmann  makes an excellent paintball gun for the beginning player.

These guns (and most guns of recent vintage) are easy to maintain.

Tippmann focuses on semi-automatic,( firing about 5 to 6 balls per second) and Response Trigger (up to 11 balls per second) guns.

Tippmann Guns

Advantages: Excellent Value. Reliability. Easy to use. Low maintenance. Compatible with C02 and HPA. Part Support. Custom 98 Internals.

Let’s talk about the negatives.

If you play on a woodsball field, accuracy at maximum distance is not a problem

GOG

GOG offers the  eNMEY  in both .68 Caliber and 50. Caliber.

It is built solid and is compact, which makes it easy for a younger or undersized person to use.

eNMEY $149.95

Advantages: Cost. Compact. Ease of maintenance. Mechanical.

Negatives: No real upgrades. Rate of fire. Limited barrel selection. HPA only.

Planet Eclipse

The EMEK from Planet Eclipse is an excellent paintball gun to start with.

EMEK $289.95

Advantages: Built based on the Electronic Etha. This gives it a higher end boly system for improved acceressy. Cocker Threaded Barrel. Soft trigger pull. Compact. Excellent Value. Compatible with the PAL loader system..

Negatives: Cost.

This is a tad more expensive than most Tippmanns, but still an incredible value. That is why it’s listed in both categories.

The MagFed Game – Playing with Limited Paint

The interest in Old School paintball is growing. When I say old school, I refer to  people playing with limited paint ( 7, 12, or 20 rounds, depending on the paintball gun.). This type of game removed a players relyance on spray and pray or winning through volume.

Playing MagFed does not mean you go out with a single meg, many people carry as many as eight or more.

There is a certain satisfaction when you have to make every shot count.

The other benefit to playing Mag Feed is you save money by going through less paint.

Another aspect that draws people to play MagFed, is that the paintball guns being used have a MilSim look, which many players are drawn toward.

The MagFed guns all have rails which allows individuals to customize the external look and function.

With the exception of the pistols, the MagFed paintball guns listed below, are dual feed, meaning each comes with the partsnesseary to convert the gun to being loader feed.

(The Paintball guns listed below are all .68 Caliber)

Tippmann offers Four MagFed Paintball guns:

Stormer Elite Dual Feed: $199.95

TMC Dual Feed: $249.95 Many consider the TMC to be a flawless paintball marker with the exception of its barrel.

TMC Elite Dual Feed: $299.95

TPIX Pistol $249.95
